Why do so many American Idol contestants find success in the entertainment industry even without winning the contest? Read this intriguing article to find out.

This is why the show American Idol works so well and creates so many continuous superstars week after week. Think about it, most people in this world would love to be you, wouldn’t they? You get up on stage and perform your original works that were handcrafted from the songwriting phase all the way through the production phase. Meaning that you are giving your audiences a very intimate portion of yourself, and surprisingly week after week more and more individuals are connecting with you as a result. So many people would like to be a part of this world you have wondered into, but maybe don’t know how to, they lack the confidence to, or they simply don’t have the talent to be a part of the entertainment world.

On Idol Americans can fulfill they’re secret dream vicariously through people like a Ruben Studdard, Kelly Clarkson whose last album sold 11 million worldwide, and Carrie Underwood whose last album sold over 6 million copies. By simply voting, Americans get to play their part in the making and breaking of dreams within the music industry, for those brief couple of weeks they are in control of who becomes tomorrow’s next big thing. This form of interactive reality television has both the gut wrenching elements of all of the other competitive reality shows out there, but with this added element of public help in deciding the ultimate winners.

But think about it, isn’t this just a master plan of show producers and record companies yet again to cash in huge in the end? Due to the fact that America votes for the winners and losers the artists gain instant celebrity and fan bases in just a matter of weeks and are almost guaranteed once within the final four people some type of future entertainment world successes. An example of this is Daughtry. It doesn’t really matter who the actual winner of Idol becomes because Americans as a whole have already submitted to the finalists. The American Dream Being Captured in real time during each season finally makes for the ultimate closer to the deal for an American fan base for the idol winners.

These are the main reasons that the ever popular American Idol show of Fox works in our society. It allows viewers of all talent, shape and size to take part in the selection of the music industry’s next big thing. It satisfies that "anyone can come from nowhere and make it in America dream" and creates instant fan bases that alone could make an artist hugely successful and profitable. Could you maybe take elements of this Idol formula and use it in your next music campaigns? Make the public feel like they are contributing to the success of the next big thing, use your local media as a way to do this and make your marketing campaigns work like American Idol works.
